We are hiring four permanent, full-time positions on afternoon and weekend shifts! No direct experience required – training is provided. Multi-Action Labels is recruiting roles for a press operator, a machine operator and a press helper! Rest assured, if you’re not familiar with the terms – as a self-motivated hard-worker, we’ll teach you what you need to know! You are punctual, reliable, organized, and independent, with basic mechanical skills, a strong work ethic and superb references. Experience in a manufacturing/processing company or in the industry is an asset, but not a requirement.

Weekday shifts are 4×12 hours each, which means three-day weekends every weekend, while weekend shift workers get four days off every week.

Work conditions (according to the open position, work one of the following):

  • Afternoon shift, Mondays to Thursdays (4:30PM to 3:30AM) or
  • Week-end shift, Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays (6:00AM to 6:30PM) with a shift premium
  • These are PERMANENT, FULL-TIME roles.

Proposed challenges

You would be responsible for the efficient operation of press equipment :

  • Receive and review customer specifications as per the job ticket and ensure components and material meet customers’ requirements before proceeding to run the job.
  • Complete make ready in accordance with the job ticket and product specifications to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and aniloxes are utilized.
  • Set and maintain print registration, color matching, varnishes, and coatings.
  • Responsible for completing all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks.
  • Maintain consistent quality during the production run to include copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion while maximizing press speeds without compromise to quality. Quality conscientious is a must.
  • Communicate issues with appropriate personnel in a timely manner so as not to delay on-time delivery to the customer
  • Communicates with various shifts and relays accurate, detailed information regarding the status of various jobs in progress
  • Must have the ability to think through the mechanical aspects of press operations, problem solving and decision making.
  • Work closely with teams/departments to create an environment that supports workflow and continuous improvements of all press room operations.
  • Work safely, abide by and promote established safety policies and procedures. Identify any unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain equipment in a safe, clean and tidy state
